  1. I bought a striaght 4X Bushnell dusk to dawn for my 10/22. I love it. I have used 3x9 scopes for this gun as well for squirrel hunting cuz you can dial it in and see the fuzz on their ears but a good clear 4x works just fine. I picked it up for around 60 bucks. I would stay away from the cheaper ones. They do work, but in my experience you give up alot in light gathering and clarity which is very crucial when you get a scope. The BSA scopes seem to be pretty good to. Ive never owned one but I have looked through them. Burris makes a pretty good economical scope as well.

I also used Weaver, shoot through mounts so that i could use the iron sights as well if the situation called for it. I dont use those on my highpowered rifles but sometimes its nice to have your iron sights if a rabbit decides to run and hes up close.

  2. most scopes will work, but if you shoot a lot at under 50yards you should make sure that the scope has an adjustable objective to focus for parrallex. walmart carries some airgun scopes i think they are made by center point for crossman. not bad for the price and good magnification for those long shots on a squirel head.

  3. i don't have a scope on my 10/22 but i am looking for one as well. i'd settle for a Tasco. i have a Tasco 4x32 on my bolt-action .22 and it hasn't lost it's zero yet, and it's been on there for a few years. my friend has a Tasco 3-10x50, i think, and it is an excellent scope. you can see a can at 100 yards as if it were at 40 yards. the cool thing about the 10/22, and you may already know this, is that the rear sight actually falls forward so as to allow such high power scopes the room they need to clear the barrel without hitting the rear sight. a Tasco like mine,4x32, will set you back about $30-$40, whereas the 3-10x50 will run you around $80-$90. choose what you will, but they are both excellent scopes.

  4. BSA Sweet 22 Riflescopes

These BSA riflescopes have special features that rifle shooters will appreciate. Specially designed elevation drums are calibrated for precise accuracy with specific bullet weights. Fully coated optics, 1/4-MOA click adjustments. And there are models to fit any use, from plinking to hunting and long-range target shooting.

  5. Steve-

As the other guy mentioned, BSA makes great scopes for this rifle.  I have one of their Red Dot scopes for mine.  The reason I chose this, is because the Red Dot gives you a very large field of view, and very quick target aquisition.

I got mine from Midway, and it was about $125.00 at the time.  I have not looked in a while, so you may have to have a look at their website.

    Good Luck!

to answer the most important feature of the scope.

lens objective is most important , light gathering capability.for low light conditions.

as far as the power of the scope 4 power is satisfactory for all small game.

Be sure to see the bottom of the page for informative links on how to select a rifle scope....

  9. You don't need anything fancy for a 10/22.  Just make sure it is of good enough quality that it wont lose its zero.  Probably a 3-7x magnification scope around $30 dollars should be good.

  10. Good day!

To learn more about scopes, Wikipedia has 2 good write-ups on them.  This will give you a good base understanding of scopes, advantages/disadventages, etc.  At least you'll know what to look for.

Take a look at Cabela's for scopes too.

I too suggest going with a red-dot scope because of the large field of view.  It's easier to obtain, small, fast moving targets.

    Happy hunting!
