SEA Games: Vivian Kah Mun Hoo – Woon Khe Wei confident to deliver best in Women’s Doubles event
Malaysia’s Women’s Doubles talented shuttlers Vivian Kah Mun Hoo and Woon Khe Wei are determined to continue their winning run by putting up strong show in the upcoming event of SEA Games, which will take place in Indonesia, from November 12 to 19.
Vivian and Khe Wei, who are currently ranked at 32nd position in the Women’s Doubles world rankings, have been performing well for the last six months. The best performance of the duo came in the last month’s Indonesia Open Grand Prix Gold 2011,
when they proved their mettle and won the title.
Now, in SEA Games, the spirited shuttlers are determined to put up the similar winning show by playing quality badminton. They are ready to take the challenge as they are fully prepared to win glory for Malaysia.
In the previous edition of SEA Games, Malaysia’s Chin Eei h*i and Wong Pei Tty earned the gold medal in the individual and team event categories. Now Vivian and Khe Wei are determined to win gold medal in the upcoming edition.
While talking about their strategy in the tournament Vivian said that the duo will not take any match easy. Their major target is to reach at least at the top-4 stage of the tournament.
She said, "We are going to take each opponent as they come and not get too far ahead of ourselves. We don't even know who we'll be playing since the draw has yet to be made."
She further added that winning the title in the Indonesia Open is not enough to take higher seeding in the SEA Games. They will get a lower seeding in the tournament.
Vivian said, "We are certainly not going to be seeded any higher just because we won in Kalimantan. So we are looking at making the semi-finals at the very least."
Rexy Mainaky, Malaysia’s Women’s Doubles coach is also hopeful for good performance from Vivian and Khe Wei as the shuttlers have shown improvement in their standard of the game by playing top quality badminton in the recent events.
The pair is determined to put up good show and give their best in every match of the tournament.
