Question:

SEC may be the toughest conference but doesn't it seem like they have the worst fans?

I'm an OU fan and I remember the national championship game in 03 when it was LSU vs. OU and yes LSU won but that day after the game I wore my OU shirt in the hotel and several people booed me and said other rude things

I also went to the OU vs. Alabama game a few years back and the bama fans were also very rude to me

then there is yahoo answers and you have several SEC lovers on here who are always spouting off about how the SEC is # 1 which it might be but even here on YA they have been very rude

now I know its unfair to judge a whole conference on 2 events by 2 teams but what do you think have you had a bad encounter with a SEC school

  1. I have heard bad things about LSU and Florida fans the most. I went to a game that OSU played Alabama, and I have to say their fans pretty much kept to themselves. As for the ones on here, the big difference I see is that they are actual fans and spew the hate and the BS, where as guys like Marcus for USC and others are just trying to get a rile out of people. The SEC fans actually believe their own nonsense. What is most annoying is how guys think that teams like Kentucky or Arkansas are automatically good, just because they are in the SEC, when they really aren't.

There is one Georgia fan on here that is super cool, the rest get on my nerves. Every team has their share, even some Buckeye fans get on my nerves, but I have to say, SEC fans do it better than anyone.

  2. If you're the visiting teams fans,or the loosers team fans, you've got to expect the 'ribbing' .I have never been to any sporting event and not heard the "smack '.Its all apart of the game.Don't go if you can't hack it,ignore it,or laugh it off.

  3. NOO, we are just simply more passionate in every way. our stadiums are bigger, our schools are bigger, our highschool programs are bigger and our fan bases are bigger. its really simple. its more passion for their team than hate against you except osu

  4. stop generalizing....it's not like you were at a d**n soccer game in brazil...with soccer hooligans...there are jerk fans everywhere..

  5. Someone who agrees with me, h**l, the USC fans are just as rude. Infact a USC fan sent me a hate mail just cause I am an OSU fan and I predicted them to win the USC game.

  6. Well first I will agree with the person that said that you will get it anywhere you go. People are going to stick up for their team and speak how they feel at the time. But people down here in the South are much more "passionate" about football and I completely agree that the interaction it much different then in other conferences

  7. Every fan is like that. Everyone has their rude fans. So when we are getting bashed on here we are not supposed to take up for ourselves? USC fans are just as bad and so are OSU.

  8. I tend to agree with you...JT didn't help the cause by judging you or anything.

I am from Ohio, and every SEC fan that I have met claim that all Ohio people are a holes, and they hate OSU....weird, because I...A. don't care about the SEC (i nothing the SEC)...meaning the teams don't bother me and B. how is calling all Ohio people "blank" holes any different...you are the ones judging!!

I have grown to really dislike SEC fans, it is like they are a big group of high school homers, that sit back and judge and hate on anybody not part of their precious group...I just wished they would turn into individuals and actually talk about 1 team and at the same time...respect everyone not in the south.  These people are not southern gentlemen to people outside of the south.

  9. Heck, the rest of us SEC fans can't stand LSU fans either.

I do think some SEC fans are obnoxious, but when everyone from every other conference gets on here and gets after us you can't blame us for being a little defensive.
