SEC week three: Preview
Week three of the SEC is set to go and with several conference match-ups taking place, it should provide some exciting games early in the season.
#12 Arkansas vs. Georgia
Georgia struggled against #24 ranked South Carolina last week and will be interested in turning it around on Saturday. Unfortunately for the Bulldogs, Arkansas presents them with a tough opponent. The Razorbacks will be keen to record a victory as they go
up against Alabama in week four.
Vanderbilt vs. Mississippi
In a conference game Vanderbilt will take on Mississippi in Vaught-Hemingway Stadium. The Rebels have struggled this season, having only pulled out a win against Tulane in week two. Meanwhile, Vanderbilt was forced to go up against Northwestern and LSU in
their opening two matches and will be hoping to turn it around against a weaker Mississippi side.
#1 Alabama vs. Duke
The number one ranked Crimson Tide should have no trouble on the road to Duke on Saturday. The match will see the return of Heisman Trophy winner Mark Ingram as the Tide attempt to get him some playing time before a hectic three weeks that sees them face
#12 Arkansas, #10 Florida, and #13 South Carolina.
#10 Florida vs. Tennessee
Tennessee faltered in their week two match-up against Oregon, as they were thrashed, allowing 48 points. This week should be easy for a defensive Florida side, which was able to cruise past Miami at Ohio and South Florida. Expect the Gators to try and get
their passing game going, as they get prepared for their week five game with Alabama.
Clemson vs. #16 Auburn
Auburn will have a stiff challenge against Clemson before going on to face South Carolina in week four. The Tigers are 2-0, but have yet to play anyone of consequence, having recorded their two victories over North Texas and Presbyterian. Expect Auburn to
establish their strong running game early, cruising to a victory over the Tigers.
Akron vs. Kentucky
Kentucky will have a final warm-up game against Akron on the weekend before taking on Florida in week four. The Wildcats should not get a lot of push-back from a 0-2 Akron side. Expect Kentucky to run away with a victory similar to their 23-16 week one win
over Louisville.
Mississippi State vs. #15 LSU
Mississippi State will be lucky to get a win against 15th ranked LSU. State is coming off a devastating, three-point loss to Auburn and are likely to move to 1-2 by Sunday. LSU rolled past North Carolina in week one and toppled Vanderbilt by 24
points in week two. Mississippi should be a nice warm-up in anticipation of a week four match against West Virginia.
Furman vs. #13 South Carolina
South Carolina should have no trouble against Division 1-AA side Furman on Saturday. The Gamecocks are coming off victories over Southern Mississippi and Georgia and currently sit first in SEC East. The Paladins managed a win over Colgate in week one. However,
do not have a realistic chance against a ranked Division 1-A school.
