Who do you think would be a better test captain and would think more about the team, instead of themselves?

should and would india be happy in having two separate captains, as the players in the two teams are different. the ODI side is very very young, and the test side has a lot of experince, even though it has had permanent young players come in like Gambhir, Ishant, RP, Sreesanth ect...

and when will Kumble retire, should he retire this year or next year, and will he still captain the side against australia?

  1. I do not think that Anil Kumble should be removed as captain. He will be the most important member of the team.

After Kumble calls it a day, it has got to be Sehwag's turn to be the captain. In a test match situation, Sehwag proved himself. He is the only triple centurion of India and thus a unique player. He deserves the captaincy ahead of Dhoni who has not shown any great performances in test matches so far. In fact, when he faced the prospect of facing Ajantha Mendis in the test match series, after his unsuccessful encounter in the previous ODI series, he chickened out and excused himself from the tour. In the same conditions, Sehwag took time to understand the bowler and came up with a double century against M&M.

Sehwag's brilliance is needed for the test match team. Let Dhoni continue in ODI and T 20.

  2. Dhoni

  3. in one days you can be lucky and win some matches but test is different

game all together , here you have to win matches by planning , hardwork and mental strength.

i think sehwag should be captain and dhoni should be vice captain.

  4. Sahvag captaincy would be much better as he is the senior and much more accomplished batsmen~

  5. i never liked dhoni as indian captain

  6. YES KUMBLE WOULD STILL BE CAPTAIN

Sewag would definitely be a happy captain ,dhoni doesn't know difference between test match and one day

  7. dhoni

  8. as per shewag style of playing he is more aggresive to become a captain.Dhoni has all qualities for captaincy

  9. I Feel that both have the same strengths and weaknesses.Sehwag is as cool and inspiring as Dhoni.Like Dhoni he has to learn a few more tricks of captaincy.

But for his slump in form he would have been captain ahead of Dhoni.

The coming Aussie series could be Kumble's  last.Thereafter Sehwag should take over.

  10. I've always believed that Virender Sehwag has the potential to be a very good skipper, and no matter how many successes Dhoni is getting at the moment, I still adhere to my belief. Sehwag just hasn't been given an opportunity to demonstrate his leadership qualities. Sehwag is miles ahead of Dhoni as a test batsman, and definitely, he can be more successful. And yeah, I suppose that Viru won't be thinking too much about himself like Dhoni. Also, he would be a lot better in handling the seniors.

Yes, having 2 skippers for the 2 different formats of the game is kind of advantageous, because the burden of leadership is shared by the 2 captains. That's why, there isn't too much pressure on one person, and hence performance isn't affected. So, while Dhoni continues as the ODI skipper, Sehwag can be Kumble's successor in test.

Kumble is a legend, and can't be replaced with any average youngsters. It doesn't matter which year Kumble retires-the decision should be left upto himself. But what I feel is that Kumble should continue, as long as his performance is consistent, and he has the capacity to continue for some more time. There's absolutely no reason to change the captain for upcoming the test series against Australia. The batsmen let India down in the last series, and Mendis and Murali bowled too good. Kumble shouldn't be the one who should be held responsible for India's failure against SL.
