I like the Mc Cain/ Palin ticket ! But should an INFANT . . .or babies (as I saw others). . . .be at . . .LOUD. . . .conventions ????? My OWN doctor told me NOT to get a convertible because the sound of the wind. . .when the top was down. . .even in a small, quiet, low speed town could be detrimental to my hearing.

WHAT IS THE EFFECT, THEN, to an INFANT'S hearing at a LOUD, LOUD, LOUD convention ????????

AM I THE . . .ONLY ONE. . . .THINKING ABOUT THIS ?????

  1. many times people have to make the choice of going to a place with their child or staying home. They are not props like that moron said, mostly likely a childless moron at that.

A convertible is far more damaging to hearing (with the top down) than a convention. It all has to do with decibels. Wind can seem to not be that loud because it's a white noise, but it's much louder than you think. Think how you have to shout just to be heard or how you have to have the radio on almost full blast to even hear it.

Plus, the wind in the babies face is very hard for them to breath through, no problems of that sort at a convention.

having a baby shouldn't mean staying home and never getting to go and do anythign again. Most didn't have a choice if they wanted to go, then the child had to come with. It's not like it would be a daily thing, it was probably a one time deal. It won't damage the child too badly if it happens just once and it wasn't like it was an ear blastin rock concert. It's not as noisy in there as you think. people are trying to listen to the speakers. If you have been to one, you'd realize it isn't as loud as you think and could relax more on the subject.

A great way to think about it is this. Did someoen take your child there? If not, dont' fret about it. It's not your decision what others do with their own children. But i can see why it started you thinking. The decibels were probably around what going 9 mph in a car would be. Not bad.

  2. It was disgusting.  They brought the babies along as props.
