Ok so my parents just bought a house and were moving in two weeks.

i was thinking on PAINTING my bedroom wall BRIGHT RED, by myself.

i wanna know if this is the right color for me? and if anyone of you guys have a red wall? do you like`em?

im 17, like video games, computer nerd, and my hobby is photography..but not a sport guy.

my drawer and other table on my room is all black and others are white. i have a big computer table that is brown and a couch which is brown.

which is better Bright red or Blue( like the windows xp tab color)?

should i paint the ceiling aswell? this is my first time painting something big and i have no idea what will happen.?

i got 100$ allowance for this? is this enough for everything that i will need??

thanks.

right now.. the color of the room is borring white.

  1. since this is your first time painting,

youu should just paint the walls.

i advise youu NOT to get such a bright color.

    it will hurt your eyes.

[i have a HOT HOT pink room and sometimes the brightness of the paint still hurts my eyes, &i've had my room painted every since March.]

i would consider getting the help of a parent because my room is a good size also, &ended up having to get my mom to help me finish up because it was so tiring.

But if you want to do it completely on your on,

then it may take a couple days.

    Don't rush yourself, though

because youu want to smooth the paint out so it won't make ridges or uneven bumps in your wall.

the items you will need will be:

-a dust mask, inhaling so much of the paint fumes will cause youu to get light-headed...it shouldnt cost more than 2$

-a paint roller, it will make the job easier and it's an upgrade from the 6 in. regular brush.....shouldnt cost more than 5-10$

-a paint tray...self-explanatory...shouldnt even cost a dollar at that.

-edging pads..for painting near the ceiling, it will help not to get flecks of unwanted paint on the border of the top of the wall...shouldnt cost more than 3$

-paint can opener....opens your paint can of course...shouldnt cost ya more than 10$..depends on the quality of it though...

-step-ladder..its a must need if youu have high ceilings...costs close to 20$..but again...depends on the quality and how high it is in feet or inches.

-paint...costs about 25-30$..i recommend Behr paint...the color you pick out is the color you will see on your walls...not like most of these cheap paints that seem lighter/brighter when already covering your wall...also the fumes of Behr paint aren't all that high...reduces the chance of you passing out...*lol*

  2. I had one red wall in our bedroom at one time.  It was the one behind the bed.  I feel that an entire red room is over the top and will most likely make it feel dark and gloomy.  You can paint the other walls a neutral tone like tan or beige or soft gray.  If you display your photography on your walls you don't want the wall color to over power the photos.  For the ceiling use white with just a tiny bit of the red to add color but not enough to make it look obviously pink.  You can then add colorful accessories that are you.

  3. use blood
