SHOUT OUT TO COACHES EVERYWHERE!!! My son was chosen????

Question

Going into 9th grade. He tried out for soccer. A coach told him that he was chosen to start as goalie for Varsity Soccer. Practice starts tomorrow.

My son is very upset, because he wants to play offense. I didn't get very far explaining the "Go Team", do what the team needs sort of stuff! I mean, I REALLY didn't get far with this!!!

ADVICE NEEDED...

Soccer has been his absolute passion since 2nd grade, and now he's wondering if he should play at all!

The coaches must have seen something that they felt your son had that would make him a good choice for goalie. Is he quick and agile? Does he do everything he can to not let the ball into the net?

The coaches wouldn't have picked him to start in that position, and let alone in a Varsity position if he wasn't good enough for that spot.

He should feel proud that he was picked and given the opportunity that some people will never get in the sport.
