yes, lacledes landing, but agree with what was already said; always be with people. It is ok in the daytime but gets scary at night.  I have never seen anything happen down there but it is not ma and pa's farm either.  Great bars, live entertainment, good restaurants, and even an adult toy store.  If you meet someone great then you can ride the horse and carriage.  It is a great time.

Westport Plaza on Friday nights.  Saturday nights are busy as well, but usually with 20 somethings.  Try gyms, there's a rock climbing gym somewhere in St. Louis that I hear is popular for singles.
