SIS and Medicade help?

If you are single and marry someone with a Health Policy at their place of work. Do you lose your abilty to stay on the SIS and Medicade since now there is income coming in to the house hold?

  1. I have no idea what you mean by SIS, unless you mean Social Security.  SSDI is NOT based on income.  SSI, if you're retired, is.

    And medicaid is also based on household income.

    So marriage WILL effect medicaid benefits, but will only effect SOME social security benefits.


  2. Well yes, you know you have about 30 days to report changes in household size, income, etc. if you are receiving welfare benefits. Remember what you signed when you applied for Medicaid.

    You should be very happy that you can get on a spouse's health insurance policy with by the way, no health questions asked, and won't need the state assistance anymore, it might lessen the burden of all the rest of us overtaxed workers.
