SITE A lies 12km (far) to the southwest of southwest of CITY B. Do I have to delete "far"?

  1. "Site A lies 12 km southwest of City B."  That's how it should read.


  2. The correct expression would be to replace "far" with "distant".

    Also, as I have to navigate a boat, if someone asked me to steer "southwest of southwest" I would giggle.

    So south-west then a bit more south or west ?

  3. Delete it.

    "12km to the southwest" is fine
