I just need to know which school do you think is better in regards to getting employed after graduation and overall education I know neither is ivy league, but just in regardds to these two schools anyone who has personal experience is appreciated. My major is healthcare admin, I'm a single mom and I'm leaning toward SIUC because it has housing and daycares on campus. I tried this question before but no one bit so I'm re-wordin it.

  1. GSU is in University Park.  However, you need to have 60 hours of credit to go to that school.  It is transfer only.

SIUC has the better reputation.  All of the healthcare majors are at Edwardsville, though.

UIC has the best reputation in health care overall.

  2. I'm not familiar with the Governors State area. However, the Southern Illinois area is in general an economically depressed area.  Coal mines which provided years of employment for many were reduced in the 80's as a result of clean air acts.  Farming is active, but large farms are rare. Manufacturing jobs, as in many areas, have went overseas. However, the good thing is as follows.  S.I. follows an aggressive stance in healthcare.  Southern Illinois Hospital ***'n has hospitals in Marion (just rebuilt-relocated-best of everything), in Herrin, just added on, and in Carbondale, new editions, teaching school.  There are an abundance of health care administration opportunities here.  And after graduation, if you don't want to stay in the sticks, St. Louis is about 120  miles to the NW, Evansville (In.) is about 100. And of course, cost of living is lower in Carbondale than it will be in many areas.
