My best friend has gone to Australia to live.

She told me to register to "skype" as it will be free to contact her by phone......I just did.

Thanks

  1. I have skype. U will need a webcam with a built in microphone. Now that u have registered, u will have to go into skype and click on search. Put yr friends name in and town/country she is in and it shld bring her name up. U then send her yr details which she will accept. Then u skype her. U will be able to see and speak to each other free of charge. Its great, i cldn't live without it! Happy skypeing! :-)

  2. Well all you have to do now is 'link' with her. It's only free, pc to pc. Calls you have to pay for. Search for her in the addresss section in Skype.

  3. you can buy a skype, phone or i have a head set it is an ear piece and a mouth piece, like head phone, and your friend has to be on the internet, and you connect it to your computer, and when you are ready to phone her just click on your skype and then you click on her number and it will ring her on her pc then it is normal talking like being on the phone, i ring my sons mother in law in spain and it doesn't cost a penny, you can talk all day if you wish.hope this helps you.

  4. its just like msn. if you  double click the contact that is online it will ring them and if you right click them, then you can just choose to write to them just like on msn. add me if you want my skype in xbabihollyx. oh and to add a contact, you just click on add a contact then type in their name and it will search for them then just click add and it should get through to them. its actually really easy actually!

  5. Here are the Skype User Guides:

They are quite good and should help you with most your questions.  You need at least a PC microphone and speakers.  But, best results are obtained with a headset.  A USB headset gives the best sound quality.

I have been using Skype for years now, and like it quite a lot.

I use many other VoIP solutions, too.
