I had a question about the Skype internet phone service. i was wondering if there is ANY FEES WHATSOEVER attached to this service. i just bought a "Sandisk" flash drive today, and one of the programs that were pre-installed was skype. So i opened it up and looked around a bit, and i tried calling my own cell phone to see if it would work and it did! .. great. the only problem is, it says that a fee of 0.20 cents a minute is charged. What exactly is it charging? They don't have my credit card number. Are they trying to charge my cell phone bill or something?

Thank you for your help.

  1. They gave you a little credit to play with, so you can see how good the service is.

They hope that you'll buy more later.

I use skype all the time and I quite like it.

    Do note that that's 2¢  a minute, not 20¢

If you call from your computer to another computer, it's free, the charges only apply to calls to regular telephones.

  2. I bought skype. It is highly recomended. they give you 20 cents free when you create a skype account so that you can test it. It is a good price for what you get. Hope this helps

  3. It's free to talk over the internet with other people.  However, if you use skype to call someone on their phone it will cost you money.

You get one or two free calls though.  So after to use them I think you will have to give them information.
