My son is 8 months old and I have put him on a schedule for sleep. But he wakes up about every hour and a half screaming until I give him a bottle. I'm starting school in less than a week and I have a part time job, so I neeeeed my sleep!!! Am I not feeding him enough?? I've already decided to feed him around 7 and then let him take a bath to get him tired out. He'll take a bottle right around 8 or 8:30. But what I want to know is if there's any more secrets I can use to get him to sleep?? At least so he's only waking up 2 or 3 times. Your help would be much appreciated!!!!!!!!!!

  1. My son is 5 months old and he used to go right back to sleep, but the last week he stays up until I move him into my bed, then he knocks back out.

I am gonna check back to see what people have to say ;)

  2. had the same problem with my kid-  i went back to work teaching  at 4 months and now my kid is 3 years old

reduce naps in the afternoon- fill him up with porridge at night by feeding him with spoon - never put it in a bottle!

he shoudl be sleepign through the night soon!!!!!!!

  3. I am reading Healthy Sleep Habits Happy Baby and the Dr/Author would tell you that your baby is sleep deprived.  You may need to put your baby to sleep as early at 6:00pm.  Sleep causes sleep in people and if you are overtired you wake up more during the middle of the night.  Read this book because he should be sleeping through the night.  Good Luck!

  4. In the evenings before bedtime, Play Play Play, he will get tired and sleep at night longer, but sorry, mother nature has a way of letting you know. Only thing you can do is find a gf or relitive to step in once in a while to help, so you can catch up on the ZZZ's or get school work done. Its not a big thing to have help once in a while. I am a new father of a 4 month old, his mother is deaf and I wake up with every sound, So I do know how you feel about lack of sleep. This has helped me a lot. Good luck!

  5. Have you tried music? Our 5 month old will do that a few times a night, but usually if we turn her music back on a give her a pacifier -- that usually buys us time 'til the next round. Its a quick fix that doesn't take nearly as long as feeding.

Is he on cereal or solids yet? Maybe talk to the doctor about that and see if he's ready. He may not be getting enough calories during the day and therefore has to eat at night just to get enough. I'd really talk to the doctor about it though-- just to be sure he thinks he's ready too.
