SLR Style Floppy Disk Digital Camera?

What do thy mean by floppy disk? Is this still like a memory card that can come out of the camera? Would I still be able to plug it into the computer to load pics in? Help Camera - impaired!!!

  1. This is an OLD camera.  I think they were the brainstorm of Sony which later came up with the digital cameras that use the mini-CD's to burn photos ... a very expensive method of saving images.

    A floppy disk holds 1.44 mb of data.  Todays cameras produce images that are over 2 mb, so you could not even get one photo on a floppy.

    Floppy disks are nearly extinct and no, you do not connect the camera to your computer ... you are to take the floppy out of your camera and put it in the floppy drive of your computer, but since new computers no longer support floppies, you may want to buy a new camera

    Where did you get this camera?


  2. floppy disk is a very old format, I know of no digital cameras that support it as it is very outdated and the storage capacity is next to nil

    most modern cameras support flash memory cards, the most popular being SD and now SDHC (which is potentially quicker and supports larger storage capacities)
