  1. It means a General Election that Labour has no hope of winning.

  2. I do not think they were stunned everyone was predicting it and they must therefore have expected to loose.

If there was any surprise it is that the SNP did not have a much bigger margin!!!

  3. Glasgow East was one of Labours safest seats in the Country,

Gordon Brown must now step down if he his really listening to the British People, like he says he is,

  4. It was one of Labour's safest seats and they were annihilated. If this was repeated across the country at a general election, it would mean the end of the Labour Party as one of the main political parties in Britain. That has to mean something.

  5. Well, the winner of this By Election gets to represent Glasgow East on the behalf of the constituency as an MP in Westminster, John Mason is of the SNP and his party wants to capitalise on Labour's lack of ideas and sheer stupidity, whilst drumming up support for independence.

Had Margaret Curran (Labour) won, there may have been a ray of hope for Gordon Brown, personally it would be a disaster if Gordon Brown resigned because he is doing so badly that Scottish Independence support is going to be on the rise so if he resigns then it would be a political crisis for us. My prediction is that with rising oil prices and David Cameron (Conservative) in charge when Conservative is unpopular in Scotland, the support for independence will go up, therefore, there could be a majority in support of independence by 2010, hense the reason why Wendy Alexander tryed to hurry the referendum at a time when support for the union is still the majority, I'd guess the percentage in support of independence is 35% currently, however, by 2010 I expect the percentage to be at a close 52% in favour of independence. The only saviour for the union is the bigoted, orange order member Rangers Supporters. They are the reason behind the 35% percentage. If there were no Bigoted Orange Order Rangers Fans in Scotland I would rate the percentage now at around 45% in favour of Independence and in 2010 65%.

These figures are just my estimates, however, I believe that they are accurate, I support Alex Salmond but he is being unrealistic when he says that support for independence is at 80% currently, that is really a crazy, over the top figure, there is no way that is the figure currently, we would be lucky to get a figure 80% in time for 2010.

So yeah, Glasgow East was supposedly Labour's biggest stronghold in Scotland, now it has been conquered, what will be next? Will Scotland vote in 20 SNP Msp's? There is NO labour stronghold in Scotland now, if Brown is to stand any chance of winning the election he must, Remove fishing restrictions, allow lorry drivers to use red diesel, compensate farmers, cut petrol prices by 30p per litre & tell George Bush where to shove his Iraq war. =)

So in answer to your question, this By Election could be the one that triggers a Anti-Labour vote all across Scotland.
