Question:

SO SCARED FOR SCHOOL! PLEASE HELP?!?

This year I'm transferring to a new high school where I know only one person. I'm going into grade 11 and I'm really, really scared about it. I know it doesn't seem like that much to be worried about but I've gone to the same elementary school and high school all my life up to this point. It's a big change for me and I'm mostly worried about making friends. I dress up to the latest trends, I'm decent looking and I'm pretty nice. I can come off shy sometimes or kind of mean without meaning to because I get nervous. I've never really had to meet new friends and the ones I had knew everything about me. I'm deathly afraid, like, I can barely eat and I'm having nightmares about it every night. Can someone give me any tips? I seriously need some advice. Thank you.

  1. Just be yourself,

    If they don't like you,

    then they don't deserve you.

But, I can guarentee you'll be ok.

    Don't be nervous.

    Just talk to people.

Whether they seem to like you or not.

On the first day of gym class, I just kept taking to people, and no one talked back to me for like 20 minutes lol. Prolly b/c I wouldn't shut up but still, I now have a few friends in my gym class now. =]

  2. well i went to the same school all my life n im goin to a new skool this term too...only diff is my bestfren n i happen to b both transferin to the same skool.

    1. smile n luk approachable

    2. dont change you for NOBODY but you

    3. be polite n friendly to other ppl but try not to act like you r in desperate   need of a frenz

dnt be afrain to go out of yer comfort zone...casually say hi wasup to sum1 whos locker is near yers or the girl sitting by herself in the lunchroom

  3. You will be just fine. Sometimes in life these things happen and you may be pleasantly surprised by some of the new friends you meet. Just be yourself and don't forget to smile. People that are starting there this year in the 11th grade are no doubt new just like you. Just keep your head up and be yourself.

  4. don't worry it will be ok its always like that when you go to a new school. i was scared when i went to a new school and I'm really shy but when you get there where ever you sit just start talking to who ever sits by you thats what i always do.

  5. try having the one friend you know introduce you to other people to the school so you feel more confident. Also talk to people who are sitting alone in class or seem scared, because they are as scared as you.(:

  6. I know moving is a big deal but don't make such a big deal about it. I had to go to a new school when I was younger but I didn't know anyone no family, or friends, or anything. You should be excited it's kinda like being taken out of your comfort place but sooner or later you'll have amazing friends that know everything about you. But that doesn't mean forget all your other friends

  7. The same thing happened to me! Maybe the one person you know will introduce you to other people. The first couple weeks might seem like your alone but it WILL get better! you should try talking to people instead of waiting for them to talk to you cause chances are they wont.  But if you try and make small conversation with people that seem interested then soon enough they can be friends. good luck and just think of the positive side!

  8. dont worry, im starting a new school too. i move all the time and went to 3 different middle schools and 4 different elementary schools. you really dont have to talk to people, usually the people come up to you if they notice you're new. if not, just say hi to the people sitting around you in class or at lunch. its really not a big deal. :D

good luck at ur new school!! :)

  9. You're not going to a fashion show (to have to dress up to the latest trends), nor will you be going to jail (to have a nervous breakdown).

Everyone feels that way the first day of school, especially if they're going to a new school. Take a nice deep breath (slowly, so you won't hyperventilate!!!)--this will calm you down. Smile when you see someone (but don't look like a fool with a fixed smile on your face).

These are the students at my school. They didn't know one another the first day--look at them now.
