  3. Skin So Soft by Avon.....

  4. Eating lots of garlic releases an oder through your pores that they don't like.

you can also rub some rubbing alcohol on yourself before you go to bed, that always works

  5. vics vapor rub!!!! put it on yur feet they will stay away from you if that is the first thing they do

  6. put sugar all over you

  8. I am a mosquito magnet myself

when i get a bite, i dowse it with regular rubbing alcohol, and it seems to take the bite out of the bite,

i also just received this information which i cant wait to try..

      Mosquito Spray...Worth a try

I was at a deck party awhile back, and the bugs were having a ball biting everyone. A man at the party sprayed the lawn and deck floor with Listerine, and the little demons disappeared. The next year I

filled a 4-ounce spray bottle and used it around my seat whenever I saw mosquitoes. And voila! That worked as well. It worked at a picnic where we sprayed the area around the food table, t he children's swing area, and the standing water nearby. During the summer, I don't leave home without it.....Pass it on.

OUR FRIEND'S COMMENTS: I tried this on my deck and around all of my doors. It works - in fact, it killed them ins tantly. I bought my bottle from Target and it cost me $1.89. It really doesn't take much, and it is a big bottle, too; so it is not as expensive to use as the can of Bug-spray you buy that doesn't last 30 minutes. So, try this, please. It will last a couple of days. Don't spray directly on a wood door (like your front door), but spray around the frame. Spray around the window frames, and even inside the dog house.

    Now these are Good Mosquitos!!!

  9. A solution of Avon Skin so soft & water sprayed on your skin will keep those buggers away from you.  Or go to a health food store & purchase loose peppermint leaves or pennyroyal leaves.....mosquitos, knats, horse flies hate the smell.   Just rub some of the leaves between your hands & rub the scent on your body.....or marinate some leaves overnight in a glass jar & rub the liquid on your body......it works & it is natural.

  10. Hmm. well you can stay inside or carry bug spray around with you.

  11. there are a lot of ways, depending on where you are.  If you are in your backyard, get rid of still water (even tiny amounts in the bottom of empty pots and containers, bird baths, etc.  Moisquittos breed there.

Then, use citronella torches.  You will be very surprised how well they work.  Also try planting rosemary (herb) and marygolds (flowering plants).  They both repel mosquittos and the rosemary has the added benefit of being delicious in many recipes!

  12. off spray and those candle things that spread a smell so mosquitos cant smell you thus cant find you

  13. Chinese Mosquito tents made from nylon with zips and held up by thin bamboo rods. If not available then any mosquito net, from a camping shop. Cotton is cooler. That's for sleeping and sitting but for walking, citronella or a non toxic spray from a health food shop. Most commercial brand sprays contain 'deet' which is toxic to you.

  14. Some tribal folk smear themselves with cow dung, so if you've a cow handy .......

  15. Hi! I live in Alaska and I have to same problem. Here's what I do:

    *Take your B vitamins

*Eat a lot of garlic (lately, I've been taking the garlic pills and that helps)

*Before going out in to the wild, take imitation vanilla (by the extracts at the market) put it in a spray bottle and spray it on your body before you get dressed. Make sure you let it dry because it can stain clothes.

*Don't wear scented lotions or perfumes when going outside, it attracts the bloodsuckers!

    Good Luck!

  16. Insect repellant. Try calmoine lotion or other ointments to help sooth the snnoying itch and pain that mosquito bites bring.

  17. if you rub sulfur in your skin that will keep them away..

  18. My mom always told us to use Skin So Soft from Avon...apparently they do not like the smell of it!...give it a shot...good luck!

  19. carry a bounce sheet with you, it's supposed to keep them away :)
