  1. Okay, the solar eclipse will be at night, but it's umbra will only be seen in the very north, the very places that usually see the midnight sun.  A partial eclipse, being in the penumbra, may be seen in parts of northern Canada and the upper part of the East Coast.  However, the main part will be about 10:00 p.m., or so, and it will occur in North Russia, somewhere about Siberia!

Better Luck next time---I've been in the Umbra of a solar eclipse that happened during the day.  It truly was awsome, it was indeed, like it was night in the middle of the day.  One isn't supposed to look at it, but I did and didn't suffer.  However, maybe I didn't look at just the "right" time, huh, or in the right place?

Whatever---That one occurred in the South in the Central Standard Time Zone in AL in the late 80's.  So if it's true, that if one remains still a solar eclipse will "come to them" every 300 years, or so, well you have a long, long time to wait!  Sorry----

  2. The Solar Eclipse will occur before the Sun comes up in the US. So, we here in the US will only be able to view it on TV and the internet... sadly enough.

The only areas of the US that may see it are the far northern reaches of Maine and Alaska, but it will only be partial for them.

  3. I will not see in the USA.
