  1. no no no just enjoy it

  2. My sister just finished a 23 day outward bound trip- she said you are not aloud to be more than two hundred yards away from everyone else- and everyone keeps a whistle on them at ALL times- never taking it off- Plus the instructors check on you - it's only for one night anyway and you won't be worried about a bear- you will probably be catching up on some much needed rest- and maybe a nice long bathroom break (:

    Hope this helped

(I will be doing outward bound next year!)

  3. The only bears in North Carolina are black bears.  Black bears are extremely shy of humans and most people go through their whole life without seeing one in the wild.  Black bears are more afraid of you then you are of them.  If one hears or smells you it will be gone before you get a chance to see it.  The solo is not a big deal.  It happens near the end of the course after you have been prepared for it.  If you are still afraid when the time comes you can always choose not to do the solo.  Remember,  you are a student,  not a prisoner or slave.
