  1. la, le, l' in english is "the" but french nouns have genders so that means that a female noun would get la, a male noun le, and if the noun begins with a vowel you would use l' for the sake of pronunciation.

example: le vélo, la table, l'oignon

une, un in english is "a" or "an" and again the difference in usage depends on the gender of the noun.

    example: un crayon, une plume

When should use you use "the" (le, la, l') or "a" (un, une)? If you are talking about a specific object you would use the various forms of "the". but when you are not talking about a specific object you would use "a".

    hopefully this helps.

  2. la, le and l' all mean in ENglish the. However, contrary to ENglish, French words have genders: masculine and feminine.

WIth masculine wors, for example, chien (dog) you must use the article "le". Le chien.

WIth a feminine word, for example lune (moon), you use the feminine article "la". La lune.

Now, if the word starts with a vowel or a consonant that is not pronunced, such as h, whether it is masculine or feminine, you must use l' just so it sounds nicer.

The word armoire (cupboard) would require the article l' (l'armoire).

The word aimant (magnet) is masculine but you use l' (l'aimant)

The word hôtel starts with an unpronunced consonant, so you write l'hôtel.

une and un are like the English words a and an. Un is masculine, so you would write un chien ( a dog).

with a feminine word, such as fille ( girl), you would write une fille. (a girl)

  3. seriously? ha ok

    Definite Articles- The

    La- feminine the

    Le- Masculine the

    L'- before vowels (l'amour)

    les- plural

    Indefinite Articles - a & an & some

    Une- feminine

    Un- masculine

    Des- plural

to tell if the word is masculine or feminine look at the end of the word

  4. The = la, le or l'

A or  an = une, un

"La" its for a female thing:

    exemples: la femme, la maison

"Le" and "l'" its for a male thing:

exemples: le garcon, l'homme, l'ordinateur, le papier

"Une" its for a female thing:

exemples: une femme, une fille, une assiette

"Un" its for a male thing:

exemples: un garcon, un jouet, un couteau

Its as if all the words, all the things were a s*x, like the woman and the man who have a different s*x...

Its hard i know, but its the rules.

    I hope u anderstand a little.

    Kiss.
