okay so im basically sick and tired of my old bike i mean i've been riding it for 3 yrs now and i'd really like to get a new bike for my fourth season! Sooo, im thinking about the crf150r expert cuz im thinking about racing next year...or a friend of my dads who use to race supercross said i should get a 250 because im good enough. but that would mean i would have to shave the seat and get a spring kit to lower it (im like 5'3 so yeh)

whut do you think i should do.

  1. well you wont be dissapointed with the 250. It wont be too hard to adjust it to your height, Mods like lowered suspension links, softer springs and if the power is to much to start off with something like a heavier flywheel weight to even out the power would be an good investment

  2. I would definitely go for the 250.  It may be taller, but the 125 will not have the power you crave.  In other words, your skill will quickly grow past it, even if your legs don't.  It happens every time.

You're obviously a serious rider after three years.  Get the bike that will challenge you just a bit.  You'll be a better rider for it.

  3. If height is your utmost concern now I would definitely swing for the 150R Expert. There's so much available for that bike now. You never said what type of racing you were going to do, moto or offroad? Being that you're 5'3", it's going to be kinda tough to reach the ground on a full sized bike. Like the other responses before me said, you can get links to alter the ride height and drop it down a little, but then you take away from the effectiveness of the suspension since the forks will have to be slid way up inside the triple clamps to compensate for the low rear now. Chances are good anyways if you could take them (racers) on the 250F, you would probably take them on the 150R. Whatever your choice is, get the seat height at a level that's comfortable to you, and then get your suspension dialed in (that's half the battle right there).
