SP in display window, no options?

Question

I just turned on my Janome 8080 for the first time and it displays "SP" on the screen. Nothing I do (turning power off and back on, pushing buttons, anything) seems to help, and the machine only responds by beeping 3 times when I push buttons. I can't figure out who to call.... Any ideas?
