SPELL CHECK GOOD/BAD!?

I never seemed to use it, just occasionally, or whenever i needed to use the thesaurus.

I read, and right a lot. (University student)

But i love the internet, and everywhere is spell check...

i think I'm just getting lazy with my grammar

i find myself sometimes in class, wishing i could right just right click :O

What do you think, about using spell checking equipment?

Yea spell check is so good.....Spell checkers are really tools that are used to help a person's writing sound correct by preventing grammar and spelling errors....

Spell checkers aren't perfect.

You spelt right right but it's the wrong right.

The right right is write.

A spell checker wouldn't spot that but referring to a dictionary would.

But it's a funny thing that people who are good spellers always have a dictionary to hand.....

The "new" spell check on YA is not as good as their old spell check.  The new one is too sensitive and picks up ends of one word and beginnings of the next word, then assumes that the two groups of letters are a misspelled word.  It's less dependable than the original spell check.

Spell check features are mostly good in most programs, HOWEVER, they do not check for misuse of actual words, AND if you misspell a word that is an actual word, spell check will not catch that.

Example, If you want to write, "I walked to the store," but you accidentally wrote, "I walked too the stare,"  spell check would not catch the "too" or the "stare," since they are both actual words.  So, even with spell check, you run the risk of making no sense, if you do not at least proofread your writing with your own brain.

spell check is good for fixing misspellings, but it does nothing for grammar and usage mistakes.

I agree with becoming lazy with grammar and spell check sometimes i cant spell without it which is said for me. so it has its pros and cons
