SPSS Value labeling please help!

Question

When entering the Values section, I hit 1 and then "Funeral Director". It only shows up as =funeral director, and the number disappears. How do I fix this??

in the Values section .. you type 1 in the Value part and Funeral Director in the Value Label part .. and then you click on the Add button on the left .. and click the Continue button when you finish .. do not press enter .. click Continue .. try it this way again and see if it works ..
