Question:

SRK v Ganguly spat wasn't it on the cards long before it became public?

The reason for this, like most things in life, is very simple. EGO and finding a scapegoat. Ganguly was not performing and repeatedly kept failing to score. He is there as a batsman and when that fails, does KKR really need him? His run in with Greg Chappell was blown out of proportion (by him) because Greg told him to rest, his form was out and he should not play in the next test. If he takes umbrage to sound advice then where do we go? I am beginning to notice that even his die hard Bengali fans' patience is wearing thin. If the captain did what he was chosen for none of the nonsense would take place. We all love a winner but sporting and hard fighting loser is just as wonderful.

As for SRK. Contrite comments like he is Bollywood and what does he know about cricket is unfair. If the gentleman didn't put his money where his mouth is, would there be a buyer for KKR at the purchases he made? As owner, he is not about to cut his nose to spite his face, is he now?

  1. Shah Rukh has, among other things, conveyed that to the team via an emotional, highly motivational and lengthy SMS this afternoon. He also dismissed talk of differences between him and captain Sourav Ganguly and coach John Buchanan.

Shahrukh says: “Also, do ignore all this bit about Dada, me and John having issues.... It’s a normal thing in the world.... People like to hit you when u r down.... So, we will be hit.... No stress.... It will make us stronger.... The only way to avoid this is to win.... That’s one of the reasons why everybody likes to be a winner...."

  2. Gabbar is abs correct. It is all about money. And it IS about SG 's Kolkata connections. The fact that SRK wants a cut in ebtertainment tax, is the spark that lit this controversy.

Sourav is right in refusing. He is only a Captain of a team, a player. Business is SRK's problems. Tax is income for the State.

It has now come out that Sourav was unhappy about the selections at the auctions. Buchanon had more say. If a Captain did not chose a team, how can he be blamed for team not performing.

Chris Gayle was injured. Ponty did not perform, Shoaib is out, Gul and may be others, not listening to him....  lots of problems.

A person cannot perform under tension.

  3. Every owner should realize that victories and defeats are parts of the game. Yes, Ganguly can't deny the responsibility that he has for the team's failure, and consequent exit from this years IPL, but I feel that it's isn't fair to blame a only the skipper for the shortcoming of an entire team. SRK should remember that he didn't buy very good players. The ones he had bought, like Ponting, Gayle, McCullum, and even Akhtar got almost no chance to serve the team. SRK shouldn't have expected Ganguly to win with a bunch of inexperienced players. It's true that Sourav didn't do well with the bat, but everyone knows that dada is an inconsistent player, and moreover, the T20 format is new to him, so he is taking a lot of time to adjust. Though a failure as a batsman, dada tried his best as a bowler. He is a committed cricketer. Sourav has captained the national team for a long time, and a layman like SRK has no right to command him what to do.

The patience of people who are really die hard dada fans isn't wearing thin-atleast not mine! You know why? It's because we fans,  look upon IPL as a sport, where everyone cannot be victorious, while SRK takes it as a source of financial benefit. He is just upset because he won't be able to realize his profit, and that's all. Of course I criticize Ganguly whenever he fails, but I am firmly by our dada in this issue. I feel that Sourav should resign immediately after this spat, and since SRK has shown doubts about his capability, he should buy himself a new captain that's all. I don't want dada to get into any controversy. Sourav has been backstabbed too many times, but he always bounces back-he did it many times in the past. SRK can't take away his glory. He may be King Khan, but Sourav is absolutely the "Maharaj".

  4. Dada vs SRK ?  All media gossip.  Both of them hasn't issued a single statement publicly after the RR match.  SRK is a patient man and love for Bengal and that Dada has too.   And one thing man, don't use filty racial comments about Bengalees.  Mind it Sourav was India's greatest captain ever and you have no right to comment like this.

  5. actly all this started b'coz of money! as srk wanted dada to talk to the cm of west bengal to cut off his entertainment tax but dada refused to do so and then srk gave more importance to the coach even for the team selection he never consulted the captain of kkr saurav ganguly and therefore dada was upset and then kkr lost against rajasthan and that too that match was very imp. for the kkr they had to win that match to reach the semis! and hence shah rukh khan was upset !

  6. No, the root cause of the problem is money, SRK wants Ganguly to talk to the CM of West Bengal to waive off entertainment tax being paid by SRK for the matches, since Ganguly is very close to the CM, but Ganguly has not obliged till date!

money can make brothers also enemies, who are SRK and Dada!

  7. i think it was on the cards when saurav and co were winnin SRK was o'er the moon however i don get one thing why is srk present at only the victories of KKR does he know they'll loose so he doesnt come on those days is he fixing matches??????? I spprt saurav on this case and disapprove SRK's actions but atleast they are hiding it unlike mallya the moron who publicly talks abt such stuff so mallya worst srk worse and no i dont say ganguly is bad!
