SS http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hernanes-c16150 urges the team to go all out for UEFA Champions League next season – Serie A Update
SS Lazio midfielder Anderson Hernanes has requested his teammates to give it their best in qualifying for the UEFA Champions League next season. Hernanes believes that Lazio can make it through to the most prestigious football league of the world by holding
onto the 4th spot in the Serie A.
Lazio are currently 4th in the league with 57 points and have Udinese chasing them with 56 points. Apart from Lazio and Udinese, AS http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603 and Juventus are also a tough competition for the Champions League’s 4th and final spot. Roma are
presently 6th in the league with 53 points while Juventus are 7th with 51 points. With big teams like Juventus, Roma and Udinese up their neck, the Eagles have little room for error and have to win the upcoming games to secure their position.
Hernanes, while talking at an award ceremony, commented on the current situation in the league and also about their recent defeat to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003. The midfielder said that they are in a scenario where winning is the only option as they are coming off an undeserved
4-3 loss to Napoli.
Hernanes said, "We want fourth place. If we want to finish on a high we have to win. Right now we have very difficult games like that against Inter away from home and Juventus. Moreover we are still coming off a game against Napoli in which we were unlucky
and absolutely didn't deserve to lose."
The Brazilian went on to add, "The fixture list doesn't help us seeing that we'll play only two of our last six games at the Olimpico. But we are in a situation where victory is the only way to what we want to achieve this season. With the big teams right
behind us we need to be more focused and give it our best shot."
The Serie A is in its closing stages with only 6 games left to be played in the season. Lazio have no obvious advantage in the upcoming fixtures and apparently the biggest disadvantage will be the 4 away games, since just 2 will be played at the Stadio Olimpico.
