SSI benefits.......?

my grandpa just died yesterday, and he and my grandma received SSI, my grandma never worked, but she received money because of my grandpa, now that he died, will my grandma receive any more money, and what paperwork do we have to fill out?

She will probably be entitled to his retirement amount. Contact SSA and they can help you.

If she needs you to help her, your grandma needs to be there when you make the call so that she can give permission for you to help her.

She'll get widow's benefts, as opposed to spousal benefits.  She can find the forms at www.socialsecurity.gov

Call lSocial Security Admin.  They will need a copy of the death cert.    She is entitled to his social security.   And, you may get a whopping $400 for funeral expenses.

If he was a veteran call veteran affairs.  They can provide an almost free burial.
