Hello,

I am a stay at home mom who is going back to work tomorrow! after 5 years. I love being home with my kids but I decided to go back to what I love to do (I'm a Licensed Vocational Nurse)

It will be a big change for our family but I'm sure it's a positive change.

Do u prefer to work or stay home with your kids?

  1. I was a stay at home mom,for a while went back 2 work, but I'd at least wait until my child was 1-walking, talking, potty trained.but going back to work, makes you feel so much better, don't feel guilty about it, if you are ready 2 go back, do it! or work from home.

  2. Everybody is different, some like the work force better and some like being home with the kids better...I'm one of them, I enjoy being home with the kids, doing arts and crafts and reading with them.

I know once they are all grown up I will have to work or do something else to fill in my time but for the time being, I enjoy spending it with the kids because once they become teenagers, I know I won't, more like they won't want to LOL

  3. I do both by working from home, but whether I'm here or out of the office, there are pros and cons. I love being a "business woman," and having serious discussions with adults. I hate coming home and finding out there was a problem and the sitter handled it in a way I wouldn't have. Like the extra money, but would like extra time to spend it. lol I suppose it all balances out in the end.

  4. I'm 11 and my mom went back to work after 10 years. When she had me she stopped working. Well,  when I was 10 then my mom became a first grade teacher and my sister and I are fine. Don't feel bad since you are worried my mom was worried too. Every thing turned out fine and plus you'll probably just work for a couple of hours.

Well, good luck and god bless you

    hope everything works out.

  5. I would love to stay home with my children when I do have them God-willing. I don't want anyone influencing my children except for me and my husband. a babysitter, nanny, or parents are some really big influences on kids, mainly because those are the years when the child is like a sponge. they take in whatever they see or hear; whether good or bad. I would LOVE to stay home...cool question

  6. This single parent has no choice, really, but I prefer to be a homemaker (cooking, baking, cleaning, doing errands, creating a cozy home).

  7. i would follow my heart

that is to do the job that i love best my kids will grow as time goes by .

so work if you love your job

  8. Looking back on it now, I should have either been given the choice to work part time or stay home with my kids.  They needed me more than I ever imagined.  If you don't have to work full time, don't do it.  Don't take your time away from your children.  It will hurt them more than you can ever imagine.

  9. I prefer to stay home with my dog/

  10. I am super lucky because I get the best of both worlds! I am a teacher so I get some stay at home Mom time during the summer and then I get to go to work during the school year. It is always hectic the first couple of weeks I go back. I have 3 kids under the age of 7. So I would have to say I do a lot more work when I am home during the summer than when I am at school. Or maybe I should say it's different work?

I like being home when I am home, but I also like to work when I have to go back to school. The summer is a good break because I really get to reconnect with my kids. But before you know it, it's over. Now that I have 2 that are in school this year, I don't feel quite so bad going back because they are gone during the day as well. I always had that Mommy guilt when I had to go back to school in the fall.

It sounds like you will be working at night, so cheers to you! Just don't burn yourself out. You can't do anyone any good if your sick right?

I guess I was rambling.... does that answer your question? LOL!

    Good luck with the transition.

  11. I feel very lucky that I am able to stay home with my 10 month old daughter. And I also watch a baby whose a little over a month. His mom is having a very hard time with it. But she needed to work. On the other hand my husband says that even though he misses his girl its also kind of nice to get a bit of break.

  12. Stay home mom of course, who wouldn't.

If I was rich then I would stay home.

I would rather be a stay home mom than work but were not rich, we've got bills to pay, house payments, kids future education, savings, vacation money, & etc. to think about so we end up working. Anyways, we can balance both thats why at work they offer vacation leave, sick leave, maternity leave, & etc. Its about balancing time at home & work.

  13. this is such a personal question the there is no right answer

so do what ever works in your family

  14. I think ALL mother's should stay at home with their kids until they start school!  After that mother's can go back to work while their kids are at school, with the rising prices of things these days it's best to have to wages coming in to the house!

    Good Luck With Work!

  15. I use any excuse I can to get away from mine.  Leaving for work was a huge relief.

  16. My mom is a stay at home mom.  Last year, she appiled for a job at my school (she was a teacher) when i was at camp.  She wrote me a email.  I cried because i didn't want her too.  I was scared.  Who was going to take care of our 3 dogs and she would be busy a lot.  I was sad that she didn't get it but i felt bad cause i was happy, also.  I hope that your kids are ok with this.  Don't go back if they are not ready.

  17. may-b u should do both and work at home like on the computer or start your own home business
