Question:

STOMACH PROB! Help!?

About 1 month ago I started having crampy lower stomach pain with diarehha (spelling) and I went to the doctor. She told me I have IBS. I don't know how true that is, seeing as how she didnt run any tests.

Well, I also have a severe anxiety disorder. And now, whenever I get stressed out, I begin cramping really bad and I have to run to a bathroom. If I get nervous, I have diarehha about 4 times during an hour.

I need to go to work, and I tried too yesterday, but there is no bathroom available. Even the slightest bit of stress causes me to need to run to a bathroom. Then I panic. Then my fiance ends up driving me all the way home with horrible cramping, etc so I can get to a bathroom.

Needless to say, this is getting to the point where I am very much afraid to even leave the house. If I have IBS, thats fine, but I need to find a way to stop this stomach stuff so I can go to work and not have to worry about it.

I am VERY sensitive to stress and worrying. *sigh*

My doc won't help me, any suggestions?

I wish I could put a cork in it LOL just kidding. But I am very frustrated and worried.

  1. It sounds like classic IBS , which can be triggered by stress. Of course if your worrying about the IBS ( and you would be ) , that's going to make it worse. The best advice I think would be to see another DR, and ask them to test/treat you for mild anxiety , until you learn what foods and situations trigger your IBS. Good luck , it can be treated very well these days , with and without medication

  2. try going to a different doctor.

  3. I'm sorry that you are having so many problems. Stress will sure bring out the worst in us all. I have had major stomach and digestive problems over the years. The best cure that I have found for IBS is Pascalite Clay. I take a tablespoon a day. It really helps stop the problems that you mention. You can find it here...http://www.pascalite.ca/

Also, you can go to http://www.curezone.com/ for other ideas that will help you to get better. Doctor's can't heal you. They can only diagnose problems, control the symptoms, or repair trauma. Your body can heal itself. You just have to read up on how to make yourself well and start working in that direction.

One thing that comes to mind since you have heavy periods is that you may be anemic. You might want to get a doctor to check your stored iron levels. Too much iron can be dangerous, so you will need to verify that you are low on iron before starting any iron pills. Extra iron helps with IBS, too, because it "plugs" everything up, if you know what I mean. Still, too much iron can be deadly, so don't try to diagnose yourself and start strong iron pills.

My iron stores were very low, so the doctor put me on 325 mg of iron three times a day for almost a year. Now my stores are beginning to come up, so I'm only taking one 325 mg of iron a day. With problems like yours, make sure that you are seeing a gastro specialist rather than just a general physician. My gastro is my favorite doctor and the only one who has been able to help me. I have been diagnosed with colitis that invokes IBS, ulcers, and very bad gastritis. The gastritis caused me severe pain, but Prilosec, iron, and the Pascalite Clay are controlling all of my symptoms.

Check out Curezone.com for help from others. I sure hope you feel better soon.
