  1. it helps your balance for if you are riding and the stirups fall off you feet you will know how to stay on

  2. Just keep trying and you will get the hang of it.

  3. your leg doesnt need to be back your instructor is wrong

  4. lol, it sounds to me like your inexpirenced.

All that stuff will come with expirence but they are getting you to ride with no ttirrups because of the leg thing.

Alot of new riders try to force the position and look like wooden barbies! dont do it.

Ride how you feel comfortable and the "riding position" will come.

if you try to bend your elbows, you will bend them too far.

Putting your leg back or behind you means that in your your current position, your leg is too far foward.

Relax and let your leg drop.

Dont grip the saddle with your knees, grip with your thys and kick with your heels not your whole leg, you will look like a flapping chicken. The heels come natrully to me and i find it uncomfortable and forced to stick them up but try and let your lower leg really drop, as if someone is pulling a rope from your heel to the floor.

Sit up straightt and rember, the more you put your leg in front of you, the more they will make you ride with no stirrups.

(The fun part is when you come to ride with no saddle!)

  5. legs behind you = push him on with your legs, get him moving faster/forward
