SUBS AND AMP question?

Okay... i want to buy a sony 1300watt Class D Monoblock Amplifier....

* 550 watts RMS x 1 chan. @ 4 Ohms

* 900 watts RMS x 1 chan. @ 2 Ohms

2-ohm stable

im thinking im gonna bridge them and get 2 subs. wire the subs pos pos neg neg to the one output on the amp.

what im asking is... what ohm rating do i need for my subs? 1 2 or 4?

i have that sub amp, and two of the 12" sony subs too (at 4ohms a piece)...  the amp has two outputs, which you can plug each sub into one, and it is wired then into parallel, which cuts the resistance to 2ohms, giving you 900 watts rms output, 450 for each, which is slightly overpowered (subs at 380) but it works perfect and they are super loud and amazing!!!

Actually your not really bridging that amp . Bridging is actually combining the two channels of an amp together (stereo amp).Since this is a mono block , it's basically already bridged . And yes you will need 2 - 4 ohm subs wired pos to pos and neg to neg to achieve 2 ohms.

buy 2 2ohms subs then wire them in seris and they will make a 2 ohm load giving you the most out of your amp
