so is new paltz nice? i know its nice aesthetically, but is there a city? or at least a main street? cause i heard its "hip" LOL and very liberal. i tend to like the cities but a "hip" town with cafes and such would do. so how is new paltz?? details. college students preferably.

is the social life dull because its not near a huge city??

thanks allll

  1. AHHHH I CHECKED THERE FOR COLLEGE TO.

okay yes very nice location and campus they have

so much to offer its unbelievable ! so i went on a tour

and the people where so nice a few strange looking

    people(blue hair&all) but besides that i loved it.they

have a campus bus that picks you up from your dorm

if your not feeling well and drives u to your classes, also

it can pick you up from any location for any reason.the

library is out of this world its huge ! the dorm rooms are

amazing to.if you share with three people you get an

individual room for yourself plus a average size living room

area with coaches and a tv.i loved it but ended up going

elsewhere.heard theres some great partyes to. a lot of the

people where laid back just jeans and flip flops.definetly

    request a tour !

  2. The location is beautiful--you wake up each morning and look at Mount Mohonk and the Shawangunk Mountains.   The air is clear and the snow stays clean in the winter.

True, it's not near a big city (although NYC is only 90 miles away), but many/most of the students are from the NY Metropolitan area, and don't miss it while attending college at New Paltz.

There's lots to do on campus, and Main Street in New Paltz (yep, that's the name of the street) is loaded with small restaurants, pizza places, bars, and other places aimed at the students.  There's a movie theater in walking distance, and the Adirondack Trailways bus station is only a 15 minute walk from campus--from where you can catch a bus to New York or Albany.

I had a great four years at New Paltz--if you can get accepted don't hesitate.  It's country setting is a plus, not a minus.
