1.You want a small house of 2 bedrooms

2.You want the house for 2 years

3.Your office will pay the year's rent in advance

4.Any other important information

  1. You don't want an advertisement; you want a real estate agent.  If your company is paying the rent, they should also be willing to pay the realtor's fee; if they are not willing, you should be since you'd not be paying rent and the fee is usually equal to one month's rent.  This will save you endless time looking at unacceptable properties.

    You want the agent to know how many children you have and their ages, whether you need to be near schools or churches (what religion), whether or not a garage or yard is important, and that you are looking for a 2-year lease, which will be guaranteed by your firm.  You want to ask for something near grocery stores and on or near public transportation if you don't have at least one car; then you'd also want to be in that location so your spouse would be better able to shop, etc. without tying up your car.

    If you do decide to place an ad (which I discourage), do Not state that it's for 2 years, or that you have children Or that your firm will pay.  Look at the property FIRST.  And meet the owner and let him/her meet you and your family; if our kids make a good first impression, the owner is more likely to rent to a family with children.  I'd think twice about any property that is owner-occupied since you will be more likely to have complaints to deal with about anything from noisy children to cooking smells to what time of day or night you can make any sound.  Owners can be very independent cusses.  You preferably want a property where you only have other tenants to deal with.  That leaves you on equal footing in any dispute.
