Anyways I have setting everything up properly and the manual is too hard to understand for me! It is very confusing! I currently have 9 speakers hooked up to it and a sub woofer but since the day we have purchased it, it doesn't sound very good even though it is a good receiver!

Also the sub woofer is not as powerful anymore, I have a feeling all of this has to do with the settingsin the system please help me!

  1. Don't know what kind of speakers you have but if the subwoofer doesn't sound as powerful as it once did, set all the speakers to small and you will notice a huge difference in the bass. The large setting will send most of the bass to the main speakers. The crossover for the sub on the receiver should be set to no less than 60Hz any less than that and you will only get the lowest frequencies to the sub.

  2. The speakers are at least 70% of sound quality and you haven't listed them.

In order to tell you what is wrong make sure these things are done.

    List your connected components.

List every cable connecting your sources to the receiver. Any digital source should have a Digital audio cable ONLY for audio. Do NOT connect the red and white cables figureing it couldn't hurt.

List the speaker make and models along with the subwoofer.

List the settings you have for the speakers. ie. small or large and sub settings and crossover settings.

You say that the settings are proper but it doesn't sound good. That means the speakers are no good or the receiver is defective. It you don't believe this to be true then something has to be set wrong.
