I'm doing a survey for health class and want to find out about teenagers smoking.

If you DO smoke can you answer these questions:

1. What age did you start smoking and how old are you now?

2. How many cigarettes do you smoke on average a day?

3. Why did you start smoking?

4. Do you regret it, because it is obviously damaging your health?

5. Have you ever tried to quit?

6. What do you think of the smoking ban in some places?

If you DON'T SMOKE could you please answer:

1. What are your reasons for you not smoking?

2. Can you see yourself in the future ever smoking?

3. What do you think of smokers?

4. What do you think of the smoking ban in some places?

Any other information you want to add - feel free to do so.

Thanks so much =]

  1. I don't smoke...

    1) I appreciate my health and smoking is nasty and pointless

    2) NO NEVER

    3) My husband smokes, I hate it, but its his choice. I feel sorry for people that smoke.

    4) I love the smoking ban in restaurants and such...it is so much better, especially if you have children.

For people that say they smoke to relieve stress..that is just an excuse, my husband was deployed for 15 months, almost died 2 days before our anniversary, I had to move 4 states away from everyone I knew, and managed just fine without smoking...stress can be relieved by exercising and such...

    1. What are your reasons for you not smoking: Smoking is not healthy for you. It causes a lot of health problems in the future. Also, if you smoke, you smell bad.

    2. Can you see yourself in the future ever smoking: No way. It is not good for you at all!

    3. What do you think of smokers: I really don't think much about them unless I can smell the smoke. I think it is disgusting habit. They are not only hurting themselves, but could be hurting their family and friends when they get sick. My dad smokes and he knows how much I hate it so he never smokes in front of me.

    4. What do you think of the smoking ban in some places: I think that it is really good. People, like me, that do not smoke would probably not want to be around a smoker because of the second-hand smoke that could affect them. It is good for them to be in a different place so that it does not annoy the non-smokers.

    2. Can you see yourself in the future ever smoking? NO. Never.

    3. What do you think of smokers? I think it's a nasty habit and they should get some help on quitting! My sister's a smoker. It disgusts me, and her clothes always smell like smoke when she comes home. Also, she's gotten really lazy and has a horribly attitude. But that could just be her (;

    4. What do you think of the smoking ban in some places? I love it! There's kids in restaurants and infants.. Children should NOT be exposed to smoke and it sets a horrible example for others, especially younger people.

    4. Good. Loma Linda in California will do it pretty soon.

  17. 1. What are your reasons for you not smoking? I'm only 15 and I'm not old enough to buy cigarettes =[

    2. Can you see yourself in the future ever smoking? Most definitely. I want to be a chain smoking vegan lol (but I'm not actually kidding).

    3. What do you think of smokers? If you are cool and stylish it looks very cool and trendy, but if you're not cool it looks try hard and stupid.

    4. What do you think of the smoking ban in some places? No opinion. If you want to smoke, smoke. But I agree that it should only be allowed outside at restaurants, because children go there, but I think it should be allowed inside bars and gigs. The second hand smoking figures are grossly over exaggerated.

  19. I am a smoker.  My first cigarette was in 8th grade (13-14) that a friend gave me. I am know 28. I continued occasionally in high school because my boyfriend smoked and he always had them.  Today I smoke between 0-5 cigarettes a day; it just depends.  Yes, I do regret it because I feel that has aged me.  I have never really tried to quit because I tell myself that I don't smoke that many (obviously I know I should and that's a dumb excuse).  I think a smoking ban is fabulous because second hand smoke is very harmful.

        since.

6-I personally was pretty aware of the public & would try to be

as courtious a possible. I think the ban is very reasonable.
