Shaman King. Because Yoh is such an awesome guy who can become friends with nearly anyone. Also, most of the other characters are pretty cool too, and I love the theme songs.

Ghost in the Shell because it well done and well written with fully realized characters . The animation is competently rendered . The story-line contains philosophical elements about cyberization and what does it mean to be human and just what is reality when your cyber-brain can be hacked with false memories implanted , et.al.
