I think the first cassette tape I had was the soundtrack to The Little Mermaid that I got for my 6th birthday.  I still have it actually.  I was trying to remember my first CD the other day, and I think it was either Tragic Kingdom by No Doubt or Left of the Middle by Natalie Imbruglia.  As for records, probably one of the Beatles albums, or maybe Simon and Garfunkel.
