I am in desperate need of a grand entrance and song for my sweet sixteen. I changed my theme to Candy. Me and my boyfriend are throwing our party together. Our budget is $300 for the whole party. It just needs to be something inexpensive. Plus... I am not a spoiled brat for those of you who called me one in my last question. I just want something nice for my party... plzz give me cheap ideas (i.e. fog machine, strobe, etc.)

  1. Theme song...Candy from Mandy Moore. Or, I want candy from Bow Wow Wow.

As far as a grand entrance, you could throw candy, like at a parade or something.

  2. What a GREAT theme for your party!  I think that the old song Lollipop by the Cordette's should be your entrance song.

It would be really cute for that.

Decorate or make some of those swirly big lollipops to put by the entrance.  You could make some of these out of twisted tissue paper.  Make candy canes.......oh my, the possibilities are endless!!

Here is a site with a few ideas on how to decorate with candy:

Rent a helium tank and decorate with candy colored balloons.  You can do this yourself.

Rent some colorful lights that will go on and off to the beat of the music.  Also use a strobe light and a black light if you have one.  Make your own music CD and borrow some big speakers for the music.  Turn the lights down, crank up the music, and turn on the colorful flashing lights.

Keep the food simple.  Make it yourself and have things that you like to eat.

Watch for a sale on canned soda, and purchase that by the 24 pack, and ice it down in a big kiddie pool.

Purchase plain white plates and napkins.  You won't need cups if you have canned soda.  Get some colorful table cloths at the dollar store.  Use the balloon bouquets as your colorful decorations.  They are very inexpensive and add SO much to the room!

I am so excited and I don't even know you.  I wish I could come and help you decorate!  Have fun!!!  Enjoy your sweet sixteen!!!

  3. I like what the other guy said about throwing candy, but i think it would be better if you had it drop out of something. You should rent a cotton candy machine. You could decorate it just like a candy store and have the bins filled with all types of candy too. Or better yet have it at a candy store. Ask the owner to rent it out to you for a couple of hours. If all fails keep it simple and fun. It doesn't matter as long as you have fun and are with great people! Good Luck and Happy Sweet Sixteen!!!

  4. theme song candy man

fast paced fun and amazing to swing to lol

and fog machines oare cool but get a rolling fog one cuz for one it covers more of the ground and it looks cool

  5. So...let me get this straight.

You want a party, so large, that you need to "enter" it to music and strobe lights?

...But your budget is only $300?

Well, good luck with your high expectations, first of all.

You need to think about food for your party, drinks, etc.

    Make some punch:

    For one batch:

1 can of frozen strawberry daquiri mix (thawed)

1 can of frozen pink lemonade (thawed)

1 large can of pineapple juice

    1 2L of ginger Ale

    For food:

Make your own Chex Mix. Look up the recipe online - it's easy to make, it makes a lot, and it's cheap.

Buy huge bags of variety candy and set it out in bowls

I still don't get why you need to have a "grand entrance" to your party. It seems a little over the top and annoying...

    Anyhow..

Get a cake from your local grocery store. Make sure you give them at least 2 days in advance if you want one specially made.

    For decorations:

It sounds like you're the type who might want a GIANT poster of themself hanging up in the center of the room, so you might want to go to staples and have one of your pictures blown up to size.

Streamer are cheap and easy - pick 2 colors and intertwine them throughout the room.

Good luck, happy birthday. Try not to focus on a grand entrance. I promise you that no one cares.
