ok so i am not much of an alcohol person but my husband is starting to get into drinking wine. He only likes really sweet wine.. his favorite is rose or white merlot... he can also do a white zin. our 2 year anniversary is coming up and i want to buy a really nice bottle and i need someones help!

Once at a swanky little italian place he got this blush sparkling wine that was really sweet and he loved it.. so i would love to find something like that.

let's keep this classy tho.. lol.. i want a legit wine that is naturally sweet, not like arbor mist or anything.. no offense :)

  1. Visit different company's around you and sample some. Talk to the owners they will help plus gives them business.

  2. Couple of recommendations that should be fun.  Both red.  Both refreshing fruity and sweet.  Both better chilled.  First is Lambrusco.  Light, refreshing, fruity sweet, and just a touch of fizz.  Great chilled by itself on warm afternoon, or at a barbeque, very versatile.  Go low end like a Riunite for a few bucks to a better end like Medici for 12 to 15 bucks.  2nd choice, Beaujolais Villages.  Go with the Villages destination.  About 12 to 15 bucks.  Jadot makes a good one.  Good acidity, soft tannins gives great balance.  Better chilled, gives off nice dark berry flavors.  Not as sweet as Lambrusco, but soft tannins makes it very smooth on the palate and very drinkable.  Also, great by itself or at barbeque.  Both are, in my humble wine nerd opinion, tailor for summer days.  Good Luck.

  3. Great question.  My recommendation is that you try a Reisling.  They are a white wine with a relatively high concentration of sugar.  Most popular are from Germany or the Alsace region of France.  Piesporter Michaelsberg is one to start with.  It's not a sparkling wine, but is very good.  Other option might be to try a Sauvingon Blanc.  They are drier (less sweet) than the other wines that you mentioned, but they have a lot of fruitiness, are easy to drink and go great with food.  I prefer it over most Chardonnay that have too much oak.
