De Rossi is in the last year of his contract at the Stadio Olimpico Rome and will be a free agent at the end of the 2011/12 season. The Italian international is locked in negotiations with the club for the past one year but neither
of the two parties could reach an agreement.

club will tie down the player even if it takes a sizeable effort to make him stay.
While talking to the reporters, De Rossi said, “He really wants to continue playing his football here that is his strong desire. That wish corresponds with ours. An agreement, even if that will require some real hard work on our
part, will arrive. There is a very high possibility that De Rossi will sign.”
