Sabih full of praise for his team after winning the Faysal Bank t20
The Rawalpindi Rams coach, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sabih-Azhar-c87765, expressed his joy and appreciation, after his side’s nail biting, super over win against the Karachi Dolphins in the recently concluded Faysal Bank T20 tournament.
In an exclusive interview with one of Pakistan’s leading newspaper, The Nation, Sabih praised his young side, especially the captaincy of Sohail Tanveerr.
With the likes of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Yasim-Murtaza-c98232 plying their trades in the English Domestic cricket, it was a commendable achievement considering seven of Rawalpndi’s young squad had never played cricket at this level.
Sabih however praised the entire team for their effort and believed that tournaments like these would only aid in producing young talents, who will one day represent the country at international level.
Talking about the left arm pacer, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sohail-c90628 Tanveer, Sabih hailed him as “the best captain.” Moreover, he also took time to comment on the performance of left arm spinner, Raza Hassan, who he believes has the hunger and desire to succeed at the highest level.
Hassan, who bowled the penultimate super over the match kept his composure to spin his side to a emphatic victory.
The Faysal bank T20 tournament was a huge success both on and off the pitch. The tournament was held in Faisalabad, where crowds flocked in to support their respective team.
It was the Rams first ever win in the competition and indeed left the team with tears of joy after such a dramatic win.
Before a ball being bowled, they were labeled as underdog but defied all odds to beat the likes of Lahore http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mohammad-Yousuf-c77465 in their ranks.
As for the Karachi http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Dolphins-c781, the luck again eluded them as they lost their fifth consecutive final of the T20 format.
Considering the likes of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Umar-Gul-c94604 as notable absentees from this year tournament one could not have imagined the tournament to be a huge success.
However, it’s now up to the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 Cricket board to build on the success of this tournament and try to convince the International Cricket Council to resume cricket in the country.
