Sabine Lisicki eases past qualifier Aravane Rezai in final showdown – Texas Open 2011
Qualifier Aravane Rezai managed to reach the final of the Texas Open 2011. However, so did the seed number 5 Sabine Lisicki, which was unfortunate for Rezai, as she lost the match in just 49 minutes on hard courts of Hilton DFW
Lakes in Grapevine, Texas. German Lisicki accomplished the match in straight sets of 6-2, 6-1.
Semi finalist at Wimbledon Lisicki had played many players and with the experience and her strong ground strokes she was able to accomplish 80% of her total service points against Rezai, who had attained 4 out of 20 points, making
it a poor 20% win of the total returns.
With a sturdy defence, she did not setup a single opportunity for her opponent to break her; instead she broke her rival’s serve 2 out of the 3 chances she got.
Capitalizing on 67% of break points won, Lisicki with her accretive style conquered 48% of her total returns and limited her opponent’s service points to just a 52% win in the entire set.
The powerhouse (Lisicki) clogged the set by winning 32 out of 53 points, making, it a 60% win of the total set score.
Setting the tone for the second set, Lisicki took a notch higher in her performance to completely crush the qualifier (Rezai). This time Rezai didn’t even want try and played like as if she had given up.
Amidst the second set, Lisicki had a geometric precision and struck zero double faults instead, she was able to smash two aces in the last two game points of the 6th
game and bagged the set in just 25 minutes.
Although Rezai had managed to accomplish 83% of her first serves, she was unable win most of her games in the second serve and hence, lost points in her total service score of the set, making it a 40% win.
While Lisicki had a grandiose win in both the first and second serves, enabling her to accomplish 16 out of 18 points, making it an exceptional 89% win of the total service points in opposition to Rezai, who had barely achieved
11% of her total returns.
With a praiseworthy performance in her total returns and by breaking her adversary’s serve twice, the 22 year-old Lisicki took the title home.
