German Sabine Lisicki crushed Romaine Irina-Camelia Begu in the semi final of the Texas Open 2011. The two had battled on hard courts of Hilton DFW Lakes in Grapevine, Texas. Fifth seeded Lisicki brought down Begu in near flawless
straight set victory of a bagel (6-0) and bread stick (6-1) in just 53 minutes of the game and secured a place in the final.
As Lisicki walked on to the court, the spectators cheered for her and boosted her performance.
Opening the set first was Lisicki as she managed to win all her points of the first game and opened the score card to 1-0.
Serving alternatively was Begu, who was not able to win any points on her serve and instead, Lisicki broke her and took the lead on the score card 2-0.
Moreover, Lisicki repeated the feat for the next four games and in the sixth game broke her opponent’s serve for the third time to secure a 6-0 lead.
Across the board; Lisicki had managed to secure an eighty percent win in her total service points along with, a superb return that won her seventy five percent of her total return points.
As the two players returned after a few minutes break, the second set whizzed past by in 30 minutes and even though, Lisicki was the favourite to win this match, Begu had pulled up her socks and shown an improvement in her performance.
Amidst the second set Lisicki served first and opened the score card to 1-0 by smashing four aces in the first game. While, Begu was able to win only one game on her serve and in the next five games she didn’t win any points and
hence limited her victory to only one game.

by accomplishing another point on her serve.
