Sachin Tendulkar - A record breaker
The little batting maestro of India, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/SR-Tendulkar-c2556 is the most prolific batsman in contemporary cricket with a number of run scoring records in his name. Tendulkar is widely regarded as one of the greatest batsmen the global game of cricket has
seen so far. Many call him the Bradman of contemporary cricket.
Tendulkar was born on April 24, 1973 in Bombay now known as http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mumbai-c820. The veteran right-handed batsman debuted for India in November 1989 with a Test match against arch rivals Pakistan in Karachi and is one of the very few cricketers who are playing
international cricket since the 1980’s.
Sachin is the most thriving One Day International batsman with an aggregate of 18111 ODI runs from 453 games at an average of 45.16 and a strike rate of 86.32. Besides being the leading run scorer in the ODI cricket, Tendulkar holds the tally of maximum
runs in Test cricket. With an existing cumulative of 14965 Test runs, the little maestro surpassed the Caribbean batting legend Brian Lara’s record tally of 11,953 Test runs. The Indian playing legend chalked the record of being leading Test run scorer in

He also holds the record of maximum centuries in both one day and Test cricket. The prolific batter has 48 centuries and 95 half centuries in his name from 453 ODIs and 51 hundreds and 61 Test fifties. The veteran is just a century away from scoring
his hundredth international ton, a record he has been following since World Cup earlier this year.
Armed forces of a country award honorary ranks to eminent personalities from every walk of life for their services to the country. The batting maestro was also conferred with an honorary rank of group Captain by the Indian Air Force last year. Indian
President Pratibha Patil had agreed to bestow Tendulkar with the honorary group Captain rank.
Quite similarly, the Indian Army in 2008 conferred the 1983 World Cup winning skipper http://www.senore.com/Cricket/MS-Dhoni-c2028 with the same Lt Colonel rank in recognition of their services
to the sport of cricket.

On 24 February 2010, he became the ever first male cricketer to pile up a double century in an ODI.
