Sachin Tendulkar continues to be an inspiration for Rahul Dravid

"He's been phenomenal, has had terrific last 2-3 years and possibly done the best batting of his life”, said Dravid.
While recalling the past, Dravid said that when he joined cricket, the batting maestro, was just seven years senior than him and he was leading the Indian team in 1997, where he became a great source of motivation for him. Dravid asserted that the motivation
still remains the same even, after he has spent 15 years in the cricket.
Tendulkar is considered the world’s most complete batsman, as he holds the maximum number of cricketing records. In 2000, he became the first batsman to score 50 centuries in international cricket, by surpassing Brian Lara’s record as the leading Test scorer.
In the following year, he crossed 13, 000 Test runs and 30,000 runs in international cricket.
The right-handed batsman then became the first player to score 50 Test centuries. On the whole, Tendulkar is the record holder in amassing most number of centuries in Tests and ODIs.
Playing in 290 Test innings, he has scored 14692 runs at an average of 56.94, including 51 centuries and 59 fifties.
On the other hand, Tendulkar’s fan, Dravid is the third highest run-scorer in Test cricket for amassing 12,063 runs in 259 innings, at an average of 52.44. In addition he is the only batsman, who has hit at least one hundred against all ten Test playing
nations.

"I had a seven month time off (from Tests). But I knew about these seven Tests in a row and was ready with my preparations", he said.
