Sachin Tendulkar for Bharat Ratna – India’s highest civilian award

Sachin Tendulkar was nominated for the coveted award last year as well, but his nomination was rejected on the reason of him being too young for the award.
His nomination this year has come after India’s glorious win at the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 Final against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758. India brought the World Cup home after 28 years, and six World Cup campaigns since 1983.
Sachin Tendulkar has been part of the Indian Cricket team for 21 years now, having participated in five World Cup campaigns prior to the 2011 World Cup.
The ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 was Tendulkar’s 6th outing in the mega tournament, ending finally with the coveted trophy in his hands.
Sachin Tendulkar today holds almost all the batting records in the International game.
He has scored over 14,000 runs in Test matches and over 18,000 in One Day Internationals, having 99 world class centuries to his name.
Sachin Tendulkar’s contribution to the Indian team has been hailed the world over; he has multitude of fans that worship, and consider him to be a cricketing god in India.
Although, Sachin wants to play more cricket for India the 2011 outing was his last World Cup.
