On Saturday, March 24, 2012, India's batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar hit back at his critics and refused to give his retirement in the coming days, even after some critics suggested that the little master should be announcing his retirement now that he has belted his 100th century which was recently scored against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747 in the Asia Cup 2012.
“Critics haven't taught me my cricket and they don't know what my body and mind are up to. I can tell you that the day I feel a little less passion when I walk out to bat for India, I'll give up the game. Critics don't need to tell me to do so. I will come to them and say 'my time is up'. Till then, I'd not bother about these opinions," said a frustrated Sachin, while giving an interview to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750’s 'Open' magazine.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Chinnadupargea-Sachin-c50607 insisted that he still had the same passion which he had when he started playing cricket and that is the reason why he believes there is a lot of cricket left in him.
India’s former greats including all-rounder http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Kapil-Dev-c70234 reckoned that it was time for Sachin to give his retirement at least from the one-day game to prolong his career in Test cricket.
However, Tendulkar maintained in the interview that retirement was not on the cards right now.
When asked why he did not retire after India's emphatic 2011 World Cup triumph, the little master admitted that it might have been a grand exit for him, but the mega event was for India and he had no right to make it his own by announcing his retirement which would have diverted the attention from the World Cup to him.
Talking about his century of centuries, the batting great admitted that the 100th ton was the most difficult as it had become a national obsession which added pressure on him.
After his much awaited century, Sachin received commendation from all over the cricketing world, where present and former players marvelled at the greatness of the little master, who has had a remarkable career stretched for about two decades.
