Sachin Tendulkar makes peace between http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Andrew-Symonds-c44611 and Harbhajan Singh
Sachin Tendulkar has helped Andrew Symonds in being friends with http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Harbhajan-Singh-c61453, burying the hatched between the two after the Sydney Test racial row scandal.
The three-year dispute was laid to rest by the captain of the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mumbai-c820 Indians, according to an Australian newspaper.
According to reports, Tendulkar played an important role in ending the tiff between the two top cricketers Harbhajan and Symonds, playing for the Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League.
The newspaper stated, “India’s Test legend Sachin Tendulkar has been front and centre in healing their wounds as Symonds relishes his role of small fish in the big Mumbai pond next to World Cup heroes Tendulkar and Harbhajan.”
Symonds, who kept criticizing Harbhajan recently, refused to speak on the issue but the manager said that they players have made a truce. He said he was not going to do any interviews on the issue but he was okay.
Symonds has been away from the spotlight for a long time now after his retirement from International cricket in 2009.
Fearon shared that when he told Symonds about playing in the IPL for Mumbai along with Harbhajan, he was left speechless.
Although he was not sure how it would go, he still agreed. He also added that both the players are very competitive and when such players face each other, there can be a rivalry of sorts. He added that getting through with such controversies was the beauty
of IPL.
The players became enemies during the 2007-08 series between http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750. Harbhajan was charged for calling Symonds a “monkey”.
However, Indian team denied the charge and explained that Harbhajan uttered a native word that sounded similar.
Symonds’ close aide Matthew Hayden said, “There was probably a time when I thought Symonds and Harbhajan would never be on speaking terms. But they've moved on now and I'm not surprised to hear it. That's the way it should be. But there's no point in any
of us looking back to what happened in 2008.”
Hayden is of the view that the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) has played a crucial role in bringing the nations together. He added that when there are strong players playing cricket together, tensions and conflicts are very obvious and natural.
However, he said that the cricketers should act maturely and try to maintain friendly relations with each other.
